Join us for our weekly and monthly pujas and precepts. Download

Pujas (chanted prayers) are an important element of  our  spiritual training. Practiced sincerely, they quieten our mind and help us to connect with enlightened beings in order to receive deep blessings. Below is the list of the pujas we practice at the Jampa Ling Centre. Please check the online calendar for the exact time of the puja if it is not stated and for any schedule changes. All pujas are free of charge and everybody is welcome.

Heart Jewel  Mondays 4:00 – 5:00 pm  Wednesdays 7:00 – 8:00 pm  Fridays 4:00 – 5:00 pm

This practice is the heart essence of Kadampa Buddhism. In the first part we visualize our Spiritual Guide as Je Tsongkhapa and make prayers and requests to purify negativity, accumulate positive energy and receive blessings.  This prepares our mind for a 20-minute meditation on one of the 21 Stages of the Path to Enlightenment or Lamrim.  After the meditation we make prayers to our Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden.  We make requests to overcome all inner and outer obstacles to our Dharma practice, and for the creation of favourable conditions that nurture and increase our Dharma realizations. (1 hour)

Wishfulfilling Jewel with tsog ffering … Sundays from 9:00 – 10:00 am

An extended version of Heart Jewel (see description above) at which we make a tsog offering, so you may bring a vegetarian food offering with you if you wish. (1 hour, no meditation)

Offering to the Spiritual Guide …  held on 10th  and 25th  of the month

The main practice here is relying upon our Spiritual Guide visualized in the aspect of Je Tsongkhapa, and making praises and requests.  This puja also includes all the essential practices of the stages of the path to enlightenment and training the mind, and the two stages of Highest Yoga Tantra. Through engaging in this practice of  “guru yoga” our compassion, wisdom and spiritual power naturally increase. This puja includes a tsog offering, so you may bring  a vegetarian food offering if you wish. (2 hours)

Kangso (or ‘Melodious Drum’) … held on 29th of the month

This monthly practice consists principally  of prayers to our Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden. A Dharma Protector is an emanation of a Buddha or Bodhisattva whose main functions are to avert the inner and outer obstacles that prevent practitioners from attaining spiritual realizations, and to gather the conditions needed for their practice.   Dorje Shugden helps, guides, and protects pure and faithful practitioners by granting blessings, increasing their wisdom, fulfilling their wishes and bestowing success on their virtuous activities. This practice includes a tsog offering, so you may bring a vegetarian food offering if you wish.  (3.5 hours)

Mahayana Precepts – A Pure Life … held on 15th  of the month

The practice of taking and keeping the eight Mahayana precepts is a special practice of moral discipline that is performed with a strong motivation to benefit others. In this practice we take 8 precepts and vow to keep them purely for a period of 24 hours. In so doing, we train in the practice of pure moral discipline and give our human life great meaning. (1 hour)

Liberation From Sorrow … held on 8th of the month

At Kadampa Centres worldwide, the 8th day of the month is Tara Day. Tara is a female Buddha whose name means Rescuer; she is the embodiment of swift compassion. If we rely upon Tara sincerely and with strong faith, she will protect us from all obstacles and fulfill all our virtuous wishes. Everyone is welcome to join us for Tara’s chanted prayer practice, Liberation from Sorrow. (1 hour)
